Functions of Chief Planning Office:

Agriculture Statistics:

Rainfall:

Everyday rainfall measured [at] 8.30 A.M. by Deputy Tahsildar in each Mandal and noted in the Tahsil Office.
The MPSO concerned will report the daily rainfall to the district office.
At the district level every day the analysis of rainfall will be taken up and communicated regularly to the Directorate and concerned Officers.

TSDPS:

Collects Rainfall, Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Pressure, Humidity and Temperature in addition it also measures Global radiation and soil moisture at desired location at every one hour interval and transmits it in the form of SMS using GSM technology. http://tsdps.telangana.gov.in
The data is being used by stake holders for proper planning and implementation of varied government programs and schemes. AWS data is also being used by Agriculture Insurance Company of India for implementation of Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (WBCIS) for various crops in the districts.

Seasonal Conditions:

Every Wednesday all MPSOs of the Mandals will prepare a report on seasonal conditions on (a) rainfall (b) Area sown particulars upto the reporting week (c) information on public health, condition of cattle, availability of drinking water (d)availability of foodgrains and fodder.

Cropped area particulars:

Collection of area sown figures of all food and non-food crops for preparation of Agricultural Abstracts for (2) seasons i.e., Kharif and Rabi.
Area sown particulars used for collection of Farm Harvest prices during peak harvesting season from all mandals in the district.

Timely Reporting of Agricultural Statistics (TRAS):

Under TRAS every year 20% of villages to be selected in each Mandal and the same communicated to the concerned mandals.
In the selected villages cropped area particulars should be furnished in the pahanis by the VROs and furnish in the TRAS cards.
In the scheme (4) TRAS cards consisting of all crops area sown figures of current year and previous year for both seasons collected and submitted to DE&S.

General Crop Estimation Surveys (GCES):

The objective of crop estimation surveys is to obtain the estimates of average yield per hectare (productivity) and total production of principle crops at district level by conducting of crop cutting experiments.
The sample size will be fixed in proportion to the area under each crop in the district.
In each Mandal in the selected villages under TRAS the crop cutting experiments on food and non-food crops will be conducted.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY):

The crop selected for PMFBY 2016-17 in Mahabubnagar district is Maize.
For conduct of crop cutting experiments 554 units established consisting with 2420 experiments in un-divided Mahabubnagar district.
35 part time contract supervisors and 192 part time primary workers engaged for the purpose.

Prices Collection:

The prices have been collected on daily, weekly and monthly basis for compilation of inflation at different levels from mandals and divisional headquarters.
The collection of price statistics is a very important parameter in estimation of GSDP.
Prices are being collected on various components like (a) essential commodities (b) agricultural prices in each season (c) wages of agriculture and non-agriculture labour (d) wholesale prices of livestock and live stock products (e) prices of building material.

Industrial Statistics:

Annual Survey of Industries (ASI):

The Annual Survey of Industries is the principle source for most of the basic statistics of the industrial sector.
The ASI covers the entire factory sector comprising of Factories registered under Factories Act 1948.
The information collected used for estimation of GSDP.

Index of Industrial Production (IIP):

To avoid delay in the availability of ASI data the IIP is introduced to collect monthly index of industrial production.
This data is used at various levels in Government for policy making decision and useful in the Banking and corporate sectors.

Business Register (BR):

Information is collected from all the establishments registered under Registration of (7) Acts.
Other Statistics:

Statistics for Local Area Planning (SLAP):

Collection of village information in SLAP in rural areas in the mandals and ward/town level data in Muncipalities/Nagarapanchayats SLAP in urban areas in the entire un-divided district.

Hand Book of Statistics:

This publication is being published every year continuously consisting of complete information on different sector of the district.

Adhoc Surveys:

In every (5) years adhoc surveys such as Census of Land Holdings, Minor Irrigation Census and Economic Census being taken up.

Socio Economic Surveys (SES):

The National Sample Surveys set up by Govt. of India in 1950 for collection of socio-economic data employing scientific sampling
On the same lines state DE&S conducting field surveys and samples allotted by NSSO.
The data collected from sample surveys such as generation of Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR), Workforce Participation Rate (WPR), Unemployment Rate (UR), Monthly Percapita Consumption Expenditure (MPCE) and Gross Value Added Per Worker (GVA per worker) are used in estimation of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and District Domestic Product (DDP).

DISTRICT KNOWLEDGE AND INOOVATION CENTRE (DKIC)

TRAC:

Telangana State Remote Sensing Applications Centre (TRAC) is an autonomous scientific organization under Planning Department, Government of Telangana. It is the nodal agency for Remote Sensing (RS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) & Global Positioning System (GPS) applications in Telangana. http://tracgis.telangana.gov.in

ASSET MAPPING:

Towards an effective planning and development at grassroot level, the awareness of the assets available at the region (Mahabubnagar) is a pressing need; hence, an Bhuvan Panchayat – Bhuvan Panchayat Mobile Application is developed and made available in the download section of the Portal. The assets can be spatially mapped by registered Supervisor (ASO, Divisional DySO, DySO) and Surveyor (PS, VO President, SHG, Partner, Others). The asset mapping can be done through the android based mobile application which allows users to automatically grab the location of asset through GPS and capture photographs in-situ. The user is given provision to map the assets as point features. The mobile application also allows user to save the mapped asset data on device itself. Later, with the availability of internet connection, the saved assets can be uploaded to the Portal.

Planning: Constituency Development Programme (CDP):

On the recommendations of Hon’ble MLAs/MLCs to the tune of Rs.3.00 crores developmental works are being sanctioned in each Assembly Constituency in a year.

Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS):

Hon’ble MPs of Nagarkurnool and Mahabubnagar Parliamentary Constituencies have been optioned the Mahabubnagar district as their Nodal District
On recommendations of the Hon’ble MPs (LS) as per their entitlement per year to the tune of Rs.5.00 crores developmental works are being sanctioned in each parliamentary constituency.

Special Development Fund (SDF):

District incharge Minister will recommend developmental works in each Assembly Constituency to the extent of Rs.2.00 crores value.
The said proposals of District incharge Minister will be submitted to the government for accord administrative sanction and to provide funds.
On receipt of administrative sanctions from the government the Executive Agency will be decided at district level and intimated to execute the said works.

Crucial Balancing Fund (CBF):

The Government have allocated an amount of Rs.10.00 crores to District Collector under crucial balancing fund.
During the current financial year an amount of Rs.250 lakhs released to the district.
Till to date administrative sanction for developmental works under the scheme have been issued for Rs.356.73 lakhs.
