District Industries Centre


The District Industries Centre is situated in every district headquarters in the State. The main functions/activities of the centre are as follows

1. Providing Escort services to Medium Enterprises and Large scale Industries.

2. MSMED Act, 2006

Issuing of Entrepreneur Memorandum Part - I & Part - II Acknowledgements to the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises under Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Act - 2006 of Govt. of India which came into effect form 2nd October 2006.

3. Single Window Act, 2002

Under this Act, this office will act as District Nodal Agency to get the approvals/licenses/clearances from various departments/Agencies/Boards within the time frame fixed, as per act for the Industries whose investment on Plant & machinery up to Rs. 5.00 Crores under the Chairmanship of District Collector.

4. Industrial Incentives

Under Industrial Investment Promotion Policy 2005-2010 the Government of Andhra Pradesh have extended various incentives to the eligible industries to attract investments and industrialization. District Level Committee under the Chairmanship of the District collector and General Manager, D.I.C., as Convener the D.L.C. will process and sanction the incentives to the eligible industries with investment up to Rs.25.00 lakhs. If Investment more than Rs.25.00 lakhs the proposals will be processed by the General Manager, D.I.C. and recommended to the Commissioner of Industries for sanction of incentives.

5. Allotment of Scarce Raw Materials

The District Industries Promotion Committee under the chairmanship of District Collector and General Manager as Member Convener along with the other committee members will examine the requirement of the claims for scarce raw materials like Coal, Alcohol etc and will be recommended to the Commissioner of Industries for allotment through the respective Agencies and General Manager will monitor the proper utilization. Further the problems faced by the Industries will be reviewed by the committee and if necessary will be brought to the notice of the Commissioner of Industries, A.P., Hyderabad to sought out the problems.

6. Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (P.M.E.G.P.)

The Government of India approved the introduction of a new credit linked subsidy programme called Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) by merging the two schemes PMRY and REGP that were in operation till 31-3-2008 for Generation of Employment Opportunities for establishment of Micro Enterprises in Rural as well as Urban areas.

PMEGP is a Central Sector scheme to be administered by the Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises Government of India, New Delhi, and the scheme is under implementation with effect from 15August 2008.

For which interviews will be conducted every year under the Chairmanship of the District Collector along with the other members of the committee.

7. Industrial Co - Operative Societies

General Manager will act as District Registrar for the Industrial Co-Operative Societies.

8. Marketing Assistance

The local industries will be encouraged by exempting payment of Security Deposit/E.M.D. to participate in the Tenders called by the Govt, Departments/Agencies/Corporations etc.

9. Census

The Small Scale Industries will be surveyed for various purposes.

10. Documentation Cell

The Prospective Entrepreneurs will be guided to establish their industries.

11. Sick Industries

Survey of Sick Industries will be done and provide measures for Rehabilitation of Sick Units.
